On until Monday 7th January … A display of Christmas trees in st John’s Church, London Road, Purbrook. The Church will be open each day. Tea & coffee will be served each Friday. All donations gratefully received. Trees are individually decorated by local Church groups, agencies, and local businesses, including McCarthy & Stone, whose new Sheltered Housing complex Shilling Place has recently opened.

Doors open 7pm for a 7.30 start. The evening will be full of festive music including traditional favourites and added surprises. Tuesday the 17th December .... A Christmas drop-in at Ryde Cemetery Heritage & Learning Centre, West Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Members, friends, and Angel Radio listeners are invited to go along between 10am and 2pm. The centre with its Christmas tree and decorations will look festive and inviting, and what could be nicer than a get together, to have a chat and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and surroundings.  There will be a Christmas Raffle in aid of group funds. Tea or Coffee with a Mince or Apple Pie. Mull wine will also be served. If you have any photographs of Christmas Past to share with others, please take them along, as they are a good conversation starter and talking point. Everyone is welcome, and Admission is Free.

A live-action promenade performance that takes you on a time-travelling journey back to the Victorian era, to experience life under siege as the garrison struggles to repel the dreaded French invasion.  Fort Nelson was built during the Victorian era as part of a ring of defences around the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth.
