The Elgar Society Southern Branch presents ‘Elgar and the Bach Revival.’ Following the death of Johann Sebastian Bach in 1750, his works largely lapsed into obscurity. In this illustrated talk David Pearce will trace the Bach revival from 1800 to the present day, including reference to the ways in which Bach’s music influenced that of Elgar.
